Welcome to ZecWeekly
Hey everyone, some cool things happening in the ZecHub ecosystem. We voted on our first governance proposal, more docs got released and more education content was released. Be sure to follow along! -Ian
This week’s educational piece
ZecHub contributor, Squirrel, created a wiki-doc on FROST, a threshold signature and distributed key generation protocol that offers minimal rounds of communication and is secure to be run in parallel. FROST protocol is a threshold version of the Schnorr signature scheme.
Not going to lie here, this is pretty intense. Squirrel starts out in the doc describing what Schnorr signatures are, outlines what FROST is, shares how it works, and then describes why it’s beneficial for Zcash.
A great resource for people interested in some of the technical developments going on in Zcash and the broader ecosystem!
