ZecHub Core Team updates, My First Zcash v2, Bounty Program contributions & DAO proposals from the Last 2 Weeks

📋 DAO Proposals Under Review
Luma Calendar Management Renewal
Proposal by: UnkowZork
Request: Annual calendar management continuation
The community discussed the renewal of Zcash’s Luma calendar management. While the calendar serves as a valuable resource for tracking ecosystem events, DAO members raised concerns about consistency and visibility.
Key feedback:
Calendar updates should follow a structured schedule (weekly at minimum).
Better communication needed through Discord and X/Twitter.
Community members requested clearer submission processes for events.
The calendar has inspired other crypto communities to create similar resources.
Highlight: The calendar aggregates events from multiple language communities (Spanish, Portuguese, etc.) into one centralized resource.
Zcash Ukraine Community Support
Proposal by: Beyond
Updated request: $400/month (changed from 1 ZEC/month)
The proposal aims to maintain Zcash presence in Ukraine, a region with high crypto adoption. Discussion centered on output quality and visibility.
Community concerns:
Need for more native language content.
Better documentation of activities outside Telegram.
Most activity happens in Telegram groups, limiting visibility.
Positive note: A dedicated Zcash Ukraine website has been created.
Debate point: Should the community encourage migration from Telegram to more privacy-focused platforms like Signal?
Elzz - Global Ambassador (February-April)
Proposal by: Elzz
Duration: 3 months
Status: Positive community feedback
Elzz presented an ambitious 3-month plan for Q1 2024, receiving strong support from DAO members.
Key initiatives:
Zcash Partnership: Developing ZEC off-ramp to Nigerian Naira.
Scaled Onboarding Events: Moving from small sessions to larger community gatherings.
Content Strategy: Listening to community questions and creating responsive educational content.
Contributor Workshop: Scheduled for February 16-18 (potentially live-streamed)
Highlight: Elzz emphasized that real-world onboarding reveals a critical gap, many people who talk about Zcash online don’t actually know how to use it. One-on-one sessions are proving essential for genuine adoption.
🛠️ Technical Updates
ZEC Bounties Development
The ZecHub core team is building an alternative to Dework with native Zcash payments.
Progress:
Development server purchased and configured.
Testnet testing scheduled for Wednesday.
Will enable native ZEC payments to contributors.
Platform will be available for other projects to use.
Why this matters: Current platforms don’t support native ZEC payments, limiting the ecosystem’s ability to compensate contributors in the currency they’re building for.
Visualizer & Wiki Improvements
The team is refining the Zcash educational visualizer before wider promotion.
Current focus:
Cleaning up titles and capitalization.
Organizing content into Beginner/Intermediate/Advanced sections.
Implementing autoplay between modules.
Adjusting slide durations for better readability.
New feature: The visualizer now automatically progresses to the next module, creating a seamless learning experience.
ZecHub Store Revamp
Timeline: Targeting completion before Zcomm (March)
Updates:
Integrated new Zgo using Zebra 4.0.0 for shielded ZEC payments
Refreshing designs from ZconV era
New designs from Jhei and Monsignore being added
Call to action: Designers are encouraged to submit new merchandise designs for the store.
🎥 Content & Community Growth
Omega - Instagram & TikTok Management
Omega is managing Zcash’s presence on short-form video platforms with promising early results.
Performance:
TikTok showing stronger engagement than Instagram
Currently executing a one-month content plan for February
Planning to submit a 3-month DAO proposal
Strategy recommendation: Post directly from native apps and engage with other crypto content to boost algorithmic visibility.
🦓 My First Zcash - Version 2
Updated documentation sent to ambassadors and contributors (Elzz, Speedfox, T. S., Tripleyou) for review. The team is coordinating translation efforts once English version is finalized.

🌍 Upcoming Community Events
Dre’s Nigeria Onboarding Event
Date: This Saturday (tomorrow)
Expected attendance: 30-50 people
Location: Nigeria
Event goals:
Address misconceptions about Zcash and privacy
Provide hands-on wallet training
Connect with businesses interested in Zcash integration
Network with Web3 developers
Key insight: Dre discovered through surveys that most people don’t understand Zcash beyond “privacy coin” - they need practical, in-person education.
