Welcome to ZecWeekly
Hey everyone, curated the newsletter for this week! Just a heads up, I think this could be the last newsletter until the first week of January. Depends on timing. I’m currently on PTO from ECC and will be taking a break for the holidays. Wishing you all a happy holiday season! -Ian
This week’s educational piece
This week, ZecHub contributor Squirrel published a document on the Halo zero knowledge proving system, which was implemented into Zcash this year.
Halo eliminates Zcash’s need for a trusted setup and allows greater scalability of the Zcash blockchain. Halo is the first zero-knowledge proof system that is both trustless & recursive. It’s widely regarded as a huge scientific breakthrough in the cryptography community.
Our explainer highlights what Halo is, why it’s important, and provides a number of different resources that people can use to dive deeper into the technology.
