Fact of the Week 💡
Project Tachyon is designed to solve one of Zcash’s biggest scaling problems: shielded wallet sync.
By using oblivious synchronization, Tachyon aims to let wallets sync privately without scanning the full chain, opening a path to instant-feeling sync and far greater scalability for shielded transactions.

On March 6, the Zcash Foundation announced that registration is now open for Zcomm 2026, an event focused on helping communities build practical skills around education, collaboration, and meaningful engagement.
Rather than focusing only on ideas, Zcomm centers on the “how”: how to teach, organize, collaborate, and activate communities in ways that create lasting impact.
The event is designed for participants of all experience levels, with hands-on strategies that can be adapted to different local contexts.
Featured sessions include:
How to Build Strong Partnerships with Aligned Communities and Organizations | 13:00-14:30 UTC - presented by PG (Web3Privacy Now), exploring culture, collaboration, and care as pillars of sustainable movements.
Zypherpunk: How We Ran the World’s Biggest Privacy Hackathon Ever | 15:00-16:30 UTC - presented by Harsh Bajpai (Aztec), sharing lessons on using hackathons to grow developer communities and drive innovation.

Recentely, Bootstrap published a note on the forum announcing that the deal involving the sale of its intellectual property and the return of corporate control assets has been completed, officially bringing its governance dispute to an end. With that resolved, the group says it can now focus on execution and its next priorities for the Zcash ecosystem.
In the post, Bootstrap explains that it remains a funded nonprofit and plans to keep supporting work that improves Zcash, especially in areas not already being fully covered by other organizations. One of the main concerns highlighted is mining decentralization, with the note pointing to the concentration of mining power as an important risk for the network.
Looking ahead, Bootstrap says it wants to contribute through practical action and collaborate with groups such as the Zcash Foundation, Shielded Labs, ZODL, and the broader community to help strengthen the ecosystem.
Remember the ECC (Electric Coin Co.) account on 𝕏? It has now been transferred to ZODL, following the transition of all former team members to the new organization.
A few days ago, PeacemongerZ published a statement explaining that, after the formation of ZODL, Bootstrap, ECC’s governance board, formally transferred all Zashi technology — now under ZODL — along with the related intellectual property.
It was also stated that, as part of this transition, ECC will gradually wind down its operations and eventually sunset, bringing the Electric Coin Co. name to the end of its cycle.
ZODL is fully independent and therefore has no relationship with Bootstrap or any of its board members: Alan Fairless, Christina Garman, ml_sudo, and Zaki Manian.
So, if you were wondering what would happen to the Electric Coin Co. name, this makes it clear: the transition answers everything.
Before getting into the project updates, Josh shared a reflection on teamwork. Inspired by Nikola Jokić’s style of play, he drew a parallel to the idea that great results do not come from individualism, but from the ability to involve the whole team, strengthen those around you, and build collectively.
That is also the spirit of ZODL: there is no single star, no sole champion, and no single point of support, but rather a united, resilient, and talented team that grows stronger by sharing responsibilities and moving forward together. 🚀
